Marine mammal rescue, research & sanctuary development

A home by the sea for dolphins who cannot go back.

The United States has no seaside dolphin sanctuary. We are building the science, and the sanctuary, to change that.

Designed with the ocean, not against it

Dolphins who cannot be released are left with limited long-term options, most of them artificial. We are designing a coastal, ocean-based habitat that works with the natural marine environment: tides, currents, seawater and weather.

The goal is not to recreate the wild, but to move as close to it as safety and oversight allow.

Listening to dolphin voices

Our vocalization and acoustic research program uses passive monitoring to study how dolphins communicate and how a changing ocean soundscape affects them.
